I just met the author of this paper. I have not read it yet, but looks interesting!

It does reinforce my feeling the Internet Archive itself needs a historian. The personalities behind the Archive, its programing and physical mechanism, the growth of its collection structure, and the community of Forums all have an undocumented story. The "servici" attacks of the mid 2000's alone would make an interesting read.
I hope someone is keeping notes.

Amazing how Sir Boob's on the wrong side of history at every turn. It almost appears that it is in fact his actual intent. Being contentious is one thing, 'ignoring the fans' role in putting him in a position where any of this matters' in the first place is quite a different matter.
